About ENM in Georgia
Georgia's ENM community is anchored in Atlanta, which hosts Atlanta Poly Weekend — one of the longest-running and most influential polyamory conferences in the United States. The Atlanta scene is unusually professionalised, with a strong educational tradition, well-organised recurring meetups across the metro, and a meaningful tradition of community-led conferences.
Atlanta's queer-poly community is among the largest in the Southeast, and the city's role as a regional hub means practitioners from across Georgia, Alabama, the Carolinas, and Tennessee often participate in Atlanta-based events. The affirming-therapy and family-law professional networks are reasonably well-developed in the city, and the community has an active practice of producing reference material and community education.
Outside Atlanta, Georgia ENM communities are smaller but real: Athens has a university-anchored scene, Savannah has a small coastal community, and the smaller cities tend to be reachable from Atlanta with occasional travel. The wider Southeast circuit — Asheville, Birmingham, Nashville, Charlotte — functions as a connected community for many Atlanta practitioners.
