About ENM in Texas
Texas has a larger and more organised ENM community than its political reputation suggests, anchored by Austin and Houston and with a serious Dallas–Fort Worth scene as well. Austin in particular has been a focal point for the southern US polyamory community since the mid-2000s, with multiple long-running recurring groups, an active conference culture, and meaningful overlap with the local kink and queer scenes.
Texas ENM is practical-minded: most groups emphasise discussion and skill-building over identity politics, the meetup format is well-tested, and there is a strong tradition of weekend gatherings on private land outside the major metros. Affirming therapy is reasonably well-covered in Austin, Houston, and Dallas, with thinner but real availability in San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley.
